In 2025, The Standard partnered with Burna Boy to transform BOOM into a vibrant celebration of the African diaspora, inspired by the energy of Lagos nightlife and the unique spirit of the venue. Burna Boy curated the evening’s soundtrack, featuring DJs from his label who kept the dance floor moving throughout the night.

Guests were immersed in lush tropical florals, custom DJ booths featuring artwork by a Nigerian born, New York based artist, and playful details such as fans and whistles that paid homage to Lagos club culture. The celebration also nodded to the Met Gala theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” honoring the legacy of Black dandyism and its influence on fashion and identity.
